Permanente Creek Flood Protection Project

Nov 6, 2017 - Santa Clara County, CA

Are you ready for the rain? Our flood control project teams are gearing up to start work on the Permanente Creek Flood Protection Project. The project scope includes grading, earthwork, clearing, grubbing, concrete floodwalls, raising of levee, U-frame channel and box culvert replacement, channel widening, floodgate system, and water diversion structures. RAB has also completed the Steven’s Creek Corridor Restoration, and historic Guadalupe River Park in downtown San Jose in the past. Most recently, RAB completed 2,700 linear feet of flood channel improvements within Lower Silver Creek from Moss Point to Cunningham Avenue.

Accurate sequencing, phasing and scheduling of the work were critical elements, due to very stringent time constraints of working inside the Channel only during the summer months. Further, the high environmental sensitivity of that project had to be considered. Being flexible and adapting our work schedule and methods to the constraints was the key to our success. —Sven Mayer, Project Manager #BothmanConstruction
